The EMC-14 is designed to grow with
the diver as his/her diving experience progresses the EMC-14's
can be enhanced to keep step with the progress. The "upgrade-ability"
prevents the diver from buying "too much" or "too little" dive computer.
By answering the following questions the diver can make an informed
decision as to which configuration of the EMC-14 is right for
them.
- Do you dive Nitrox?
If NO, the Air only configuration is for you.
If NO, but I plan to get certified shortly. Then the single-gas
FO2 should be considered.
If YES, go to the next question.
- Do you Dive more than one Nitrox mixes per dive?
If NO, Only one, Then the single-gas FO2 should be your choice.
If YES, then consider the EMC-16 or EMC-20H in a 2-FO2 configuration.
- Can the EMC-14 be used with my semi-closed circuit rebreather?
Yes, semi-closed circuit rebreathers use a constant FO2 Nitrox
blend, again if you only dive one mix per dive, the single gas-FO2
configuration is for you.
- Which mounting method is right for you?
Again as with color, it is a matter of diver preference.
If your a "reach under the rocks and in hole" type you will probably
not want a wrist mounted unit.
If you like a redundant SPG, you may want the Hose Mount version.
If keeping thinks streamlined is your aim, then one of the Retractor
mounted versions need consideration.
- How much memory do I need?
While the EMC-14 has the capability of storing dive profiles
for a maximum of 180 dive hours. Some divers who regularly use
our AnalystŪ PC software may not want as much.
However, there is a certain comfort knowing that your dive computer
is retaining ALL of your dives.
With the answers to these questions your authorized
Cochran Dealer will assist you in selecting a EMC-14 configured
with the features to match your diving needs. Remember, all EMC-14's
can be enhanced and upgraded as your diving experiences progress.
