Analyst FAQs

  1. I like the information and graphs shown on your Analyst, but why is your software not Windows Complient [sic] ?
  2. When trying to download my Cochran Gemini Wrist Unit to the Analyst program, I get a message that states "This product is not supported by this software." Isn't my new Cochran Gemini supported by Analyst?
  3. I had to repair my hard drive on the P. C. that the Analyst is installed on. Will I need to get a new activation code?
  4. Why won't my computer recognize the activation code that I received from Cochran when I try to install the Analyst software on another computer?
  5. When reviewing my dive statistics through the Analyst software, occasionally my ending Breathing Parameter will read zero. What may cause this?
  6. When I'm trying to acquire my computer through Analyst, I get a "Communications Timeout Message." What may be causing this?


  1. I like the information and graphs shown on your Analyst, but why is your software not Windows Complient [sic] ?

    Analyst is verified on Microsoft Windows 98, ME, 2000 and XP. The GUI is designed to provide maximum screen area for graphs and data without buttons or toolbars taking up valuable space. Other features include large, easy to see function buttons, and disappearing Toolbars which again allows maximum display area for graphs and data. We will gladly accept comments and suggestions for future releases, they can be sent to customerservice@divecochran.com.

  2. When trying to download my Cochran Gemini Wrist Unit to the Analyst program, I get a message that states "This product is not supported by this software." Isn't my new Cochran Gemini supported by Analyst?

    The Gemini Wrist Unit does not contain any profile or statistical downloadable information. All of the dive information is retained and stored within the Tank Unit.

  3. I had to repair my hard drive on the P. C. that the Analyst is installed on. Will I need to get a new activation code?

    Yes. When ever you change the hard drive and/or add new hardware, you will need to get a new activation code. Please go to www.divecochran.com to reregister the Analyst software. You will need the original Analyst serial number and the new Computer Info number as displayed by the Analyst.

  4. Why won't my computer recognize the activation code that I received from Cochran when I try to install the Analyst software on another computer?

    The Analyst software is hardware specific, each time the Analyst software is installed on a different computer, it will generate a new computer information code that will require a new activation code.

  5. When reviewing my dive statistics through the Analyst software, occasionally my ending Breathing Parameter will read zero. What may cause this?

    A variety of factors may cause your ending Breathing Parameter to read zero. Typically it occurs when you stop breathing from your regulator. This may occur when you switch to a pony bottle or another tank during a decompression stop.A variety of factors may cause your ending Breathing Parameter to read zero.   6. When I'm trying to acquire my computer through Analyst, I get a "Communications Timeout Message." What may be causing this?

    Typically it is because too many programs are running in the background. Make sure that you have all nonessential programs closed. For example, if you have a virus scan running in the background you may want to disable it.
