Why is the depth of my Cochran Computer reflecting different depths than my other computer?
Cochran Computers are the only dive computer that knows if they are in fresh or salt water. The depth readings of other dive computers are only correct when they are being dived in the same water that they were calibrated for. A computer calibrated for freshwater will have a 3% depth error in saltwater.

In Analyst, Why does the "Beginning and Ending Dive Statistics" screen reflect my "Beginning Entered or Computed FO2" as 21.0% instead of the mix that I entered?
The "Beginning and Ending Dive Statistics" screen will reflect the surface mix as 21.0%. Once you enter your dive, the computer will switch and read the correct mix that is entered. This can be verified by the "View This Dives Profile" screen, which is accessed through the "View Dive Statistics" tab, as it will show the "Normal Nitrox Blend" for that particular dive. The switching can also be verified through the "View Profiles Graph" tab by clicking on the "02 %" tab. Once you enter the dive, the computer will show when it switched to the FO2 mode.

I have a Cochran Commander dive computer and the LCD pulses when I'm in the program mode. Do I need to send my computer in to have it checked?
You do not need to have your computer sent in. The LCD will have a slight pulsating effect when you are in the programming modes. This is a normal function of the Cochran Commander.

Is it okay to remove the batteries from my Cochran Dive Computer when I'm getting ready to store it until the next dive season?
Your Cochran Dive Computer is not like most cameras or other small electronic devices. You will need to keep fresh batteries in your Cochran Dive Computer at all times. Depending on the model of the Cochran Dive Computer, if fresh batteries are not kept in it at all times, the computer memory could be effected and the date and time stamp will be incorrect. If the batteries are removed after a dive your previous nitrogen loading may be lost and this may affect nitrogen calculations on near-future dives.

How can I program the Taclite on the Cochran Commander to stay on longer?
The amount of time that the Taclite will stay on is set via Touch Contact Programming or through the Analyst Software. The Taclite will turn on for the preprogrammed number of seconds from 1 to 98. However, if 0 is entered the Taclite will never turn on. If 99 is entered, the Taclite will stay on continuously and only turn off when the computer does.

Why won't the Taclite on the Cochran Commander activate as soon as I enter the water?
The Taclite will not activate until you descend past 5 feet. If you activate the Taclite before entering the water, it will stay for the programmed amount of time regardless of depth.
